Monkey Forest, Ubud
The Ubud Monkey forest is a small nature preserve
on the southern outskirts of Ubud. Along with
its lush surroundings and a beautiful temple are
hundreds of monkeys - Balinese macaques, to be
more specific. They're very tolerant of people,
but are famous for stealing food and sunglasses
from tourists, so you have to be careful around
them.
Mas, Ubud
Some 20 kilometers north of Denpasar lies the
woodcarving centre of Mas, a village of high caste
Brahman families. Mas has a special place in Balinese
history but today this village is home to many
shops with excellent examples of Balinese wood
carving and furniture.
Celuk
The centre of gold and silver works, noted for
its delicately detailed work and fine filigree
style silver pieces. Several hundred silversmiths
make their homes here and they are willing to
fulfil special orders.
Peliatan
It is located between Ubud and Mas. It has been
known as the centre of traditional music, and
dances. The fine art of local woodcarvers started
a new style of wood carving producing such things
as fruits, flowers and trees in their real shapes
and colourings.

Bali Bird Park
Located in Batubulan, Bali Bird Park is a cast
of hundreds of the world's rarest and most beautiful
birds greet you as you stroll through tropical
gardens.
Museum ARMA (Agung Rai Museum of Art)
It is a centre for visual and performing arts
and provides opportunities for the visitor to
enjoy the permanent collection of paintings special
temporary exhibitions. theatre performances, dance,
music and painting classes. hookshop, lihraiy
and reading room, cultural workshops, conferences
seminars and training programmes.
Museum Puri Lukisan (Fine Art Museum)
In order to preserve a heritage and rich history
of Balinese arts, the museum maintains and exhibits
a collection of some of Bali's most exceptional
works of art.
Goa Gajah (Elephant Cave)
A thousand year old hermitage with a Ganeca (Elephant
headed God) statue inside, often called the Elephant
Cave. Near by there is a beautiful carved bathing
place and the remains of a Buddhist monastery.
Tampak Siring
The holy spring in the inner courtyard of the
Tirta Empul in Tampak Siring is said to have magical
curative powers. There are special bathing pools
where clear cool water spouts from mossy walls.
Legend was that the spring by piercing the ground
in search of holy water to revive his dying army.
Ubud Art Market
In the center of Ubud, where Monkey Forest Road
meets Jalan Raya, is Ubud's extensive Art Market,
known locally as Pasar Seni. This market is actually
Ubud's main market. A bit of the old market for
fresh produce can still be seen off to one side.
The market sells a wide range of clothing, fabrics,
masks and souvenirs. You can also find silver,
batiks and paintings in various styles. The silver
quality can be less than desirable, but prices
are quite cheap.
Elephant Safari, Adventure in Ubud
Located in the cool jungle forest of Desa Taro,
(20minutes from Ubud) the Elephant Safari Park
offers you the chance to feed and intract with
these wonderful creatures in a natural setting.
