What to see and what to do in Candidasa and East Coast Bali.

Candidasa Beach
Candidasa is the most popular beach of Karangasem and it is seen as a replica of Kuta in the eastern part of Bali. The Candidasa beach is very good for water sport such as swimming, diving, and snorkeling.

Amed - Diving & Snorkeling
Amed is a quiet resort town which offers simple losmens, a couple of small hotels. From the beach, Amed offers an excellent site for training dives. It has a flat bottom lagoon for instruction and a coral reef only 5 minutes swim away. This location is highly recommended for introductory dives. By boat, Amed has a nice wall dive just a few minutes away. It is a fun, easy dive for everyone.

Tulamben - Diving & Snorkeling
Tulamben is even quieter and popular with local divers. A shipwreck and a drop-off accessible from the beach offer easy access to a colourful underwater world.

Tirta Gangga
Located at Ababi village, just 6 km north of Amlapura, is Taman Tirta Gangga. It was built in 1948 by the last King of Karangasem as a resting plcae. This Water Garden has a unique architectural features represented by a combination of European, Chinese and Traditional Balinese architecture. Surrounded by a fantastic panorama, it makes Tirta Gangga worthwhile visiting.

Besakih
It offers panoramic views and a mountain backdrop of Mt. Agung, the highest mountain in Bali. At the slope of Mount Agung lies "Pura Besakih" the mother temple of Bali. It's most enjoyable during one of the frequent festival, when hundreds of Hinduism devotees come to pray at this temple, gorgeusly adorned with beautifully arranged offerings.

Bukit Jambul
Bukit Jambul is popular stop for the visitors because of its charming natural beauty, mixed with winding roads, terraced rice fields and thriving clove trees.

Telaga Waja - Rafting
Telaga Waja is a river at Rendang Village, which is really good for rafting activities. It has clear water and many curves with big stones along the river. The river has a wonderful and friendly atmosphere scenery.

Puri Agung Karangasem
Amlapura is the capital of Karangasem Regency. There is a tourist object at the centre of Amlapura, namely Puri Agung Palace. The Royal Palace of Karangasem Kingdom is an artistic building combining the styles of Balinese, Chinese and European architecture.

Taman Ujung
It lies at the coast of umbu village. It was a resting place for the King of Karangasem, known as "The Water Palace" built around 1919 by the Late King Karangasem. It has same architecture style as Tirta Gangga "Water Garden" and Puri Agung Palace. The view can be admired from the pavilion higher up the hill; the green mountain views contrast with the blue sea.

Tenganan Pegringsingan
Tenganan is one of the native village in Bali, known as "Bali Aga" the original Balinese. Located 5 km just to north of Candidasa. Tenganan is very famous for its traditional culture and custom. The ritual activities have their own calendar and are different from other parts in Bali. Tenganan village offers a nice panorama, the hills providing a beautiful backdrop. The village is also known as the only place where people weave the ikat geringsing, a special cloth using traditional colours.

Padangbai - Diving & Snorkeling
Padangbai provides a wide range of water-based recreations such as swimming, diving and snorkeling. Padangbai is famous for its white sandy beach and interesting coral reef with beautiful tropical fish.

Kertagosa (Klungkung)
Visit the Kerta Gosa court house with its richly painted ceiling and the Bale Kambang (floating pavilions)

Sangeh (Badung - Bali)
The famous Monkey Forest at Sangeh, located on the north of Mengwi, set in the heart of the only primary forest in southern Bali. This forest consists entirely of Pala (nutmeg) trees. The monkey living here are considered sacred, an association from the Ramayana epic, wherein prince Rama allied himself with the monkey hero Hanoman to attack Alengka. Some of the forest trees are also considered sacred and are used to make masks of Barong.
