Tirta Gangga is located at Ababi village, Abang
district, just 6 km north of Karangasem on the
slopes of Mount Agung. It is water playground
designed and built in 1948 by a prince in the
Royal Family of Karangasem as a resting place.
This Water Garden has a unique architectural features
represented by a combination of European, Chinese,
and Traditional Balinese architecture. Surrounded
by a fantastic panorama, it makes Tirta Gangga
worthwhile visiting. The exotic pools and water
fountains sustained some damage during the eruptions
of Mount Agung, but the water gardens remain as
serene and tempting as ever.
Going north, visitors will find nice fishing
villages of Jemeluk, Amed and Tulamben.
